Foot pedal fits on the rear of the Vector System unit. When the foot pedal is not being used the Vector is always "live" and puts out current. When the foot pedal is plugged in, the current only flows when the foot pedal is pressed. The addition of the foot pedal makes treatments much more efficient and comfortable since it allows more precise positioning of the tweezers (the optimal position for the tweezers is as close as possible to the skin, without actually touching the skin). Topical Electrolysis
This formula was originally created to improve results achieved from regular electrolysis by adding 10-20 molecular units of sodium hydroxide to the follicle shaft following the primary treatment session. As it turned out, many technicians discovered it could produce results as well as regular electrolysis all by itself.
The active ingredient in Topical Electrolysis® is NaOH. What makes it such a brilliant formula is that the sodium hydroxide is suspended in a non-reactive anhydrous liquid called Methyl-Isobutyl-Ketone (a harmless emulsifying solvent). Only after reacting with the high moisture content inside the empty follicle shaft does it become caustic(2). The SPL-600 produces a highly effective 600W (180jcm2/second of energy density at 410-800nm) with a pulse duration of 0.1 seconds. Pulse frequency is user-adjustable from 1-7 emissions per second and, unlike the SPL-Economy unit, there are three settings for treatment length (0.5, 1.0, and 1.5 seconds).
